Washington, D.C.The Smithsonian American Art Museum presents Color as Field: American Painting, 1950–1975, a full-scale examination of the sources, meaning and impact of the Color Field movement, with 40 paintings by artists such as Gene Davis, Larry Poons, Frank Stella, Helen Frankenthaler (her painting Small's Paradise is at right) and more.
